How To Retrieve Deleted Blog

  Hi, I need assistance on how to retrieve my old blog name.

  A few months ago I created a blog lizaotto.wordpress.com. I then bought a domain mapping for lizaotto.com. However I deleted that blog.

  A few weeks ago, I created a new blog called motivationalcrafts.wordpress.com. I wanted to use my domain name lizaotto.com. I edited my DNS Servers pointing to wordpress ns1.wordpress.com, ns2.wordpress.com, ns3.wordpress.com. It’s giving me this message,”Sorry but lizaotto.com is already mapped to a WordPress.com blog”. Since I already paid the domain mapping a couple of months ago, Is it possible I can have that name back lizaotto.com for my new blog motivationalcrafts.wordpress.com?

  This blog has not been deleted https://lizaotto.wordpress.com/ lizaotto.com is set as the primary domain for lizaottoblog.wordpress.com and will appear in the address bar when you visit the site, unless and until Staff remove the domain mapping for you.

  Hi Liza!

  I can definitely help out here. The issue is that a domain cannot be associated with more than one blog. The mapping upgrade should have been removed when you deleted your blog originally. I’m not sure why it wasn’t!

  To remove the domain mapping upgrade (so you can use it with another site), I’ll need the owner of the upgrade to respond back asking for it to be removed. It looks like you purchased the upgrade under a different account. By any chance, do you remember the account that you purchased the upgrade under? If so, can you login to that account and respond back here?

  Hi Jeremy,

  I think I purchase the domain mapping for lizaottoblog.wordpress.com. I created this blog last year for my First Vita Plus USA website but it didn’t work and yes, I am the owner of lizaottoblog.wordpress.com requesting domain mapping upgrade to be remove so I can use lizaotto.com for my current blog (motivationalcrafts.wordpress.com).

  Thanks! I removed the mapping upgrade.

  @motivationalcrafts – you should be able to setup the domain on your new site now. Can you give this a try? I credited your account since you originally paid for the domain mapping upgrade with another user account so you shouldn’t be asked to pay anything extra.
