how to retrieve post from trash
-
somehow managed to send a post to trash. can’t retrieve. please help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
-
i haven’t found that option available. the title of my post is available. but when you click on it, nothing is found. there is no “trash” button to retrieve it.. unless i am in the wrong place.

Are you sure you sent it to Trash? That the page exists indicates you didn’t, but that something else happened.
Check in the Edit Post page to see if there are revisions you can revert to.
-
i’m in edit post and off to the right, there is a “publish” box: status shows published, but when i try to edit nothing shows me earlier drafts..
totally weird. do you know how else to retrieve earlier drafts?
-
-
i went into review my posts. i have published a total of 2 of them. but “morning light” was showing that one was published and one was a draft, so i deleted the draft.. that’s when everything went screwy.

Look at this:
http://jplesz.wordpress.com/2011/11/25/swimming-out-of-the-mud/
There is no content in that post but do note but what is there is this link
Swimming out of the mudClick that link in that post and you arrive on the actual post.
That’s why I asked if you had created two posts with the same title. I have never seen this happen before so I’ll leave it to another Volunteer or Staff to figure out how it happened.
Go to screen options on the top right hand corner of your Admin page. When it opens click “posts”. That ought to produce “post revisions” you can restore from.

yeah.. i noticed it was doing that.. i don’t know why? and i would love to correct it. everything seems to have changed when i clicked on “permalink”. can this be corrected so that the content is there instead of the link?
when i go to screen options, it shows the following options:
edit my profile
comments i’ve made
manage my blogs
help
sign outi see nothing with post revisions.

Can you locate the post and restore it when you go here > http:jplesz/wp-admin/edit.php?post_status=trash&post_type=post

I’m sorry. Here’s the active link:

Twice wrong – very red-faced:

I humbly apologize to you for the errors I made. I’m sending you to Staff. They have backend access to blogs and Volunteers don’t, of course. Here’s the link http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ After you use the searchbox, under the search results, at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.

-
yes!! you found it! i don’t know how!! but you found it! thank you!! now. can you help figure out how to put the contact back on my blog page? is that possible?
-
That’s great news. Thanks for sharing it.
To create a contact form – type the shortcode on it. For access links to Pages in your sidebar you use a Pages widget > Appearance > Widgets.

When you open the Trash and click Restore for a trashed post, it goes to Draft. Then you open Draft, hover under the post title, click Quick Edit, change status from draft to published, click Update.
