Hi there,
In order to set up a new homepage (assuming your homepage is static, meaning it doesn’t have blog posts on it), the steps you have taken are correct but there should be one additional step. You would need to set the home page to be the static front page from your Site Customizer.
If your homepage is your posts page, you will want to make sure your Homepage Settings in your Site Customizer are set to display your latest posts for your homepage. In this case, when you are creating your menu you can add a custom link to your home url (iltusuv.wordpress.com).
Also, if you wanted to try and recover your deleted page you may be able to do so with the suggestions on this page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/deleted-posts-and-pages/.
I hope this helps.

You said “In this case, when you are creating your menu you can add a custom link to your home url (iltusuv.wordpress.com)”
Please explain, how to make it?

Hi there,
I’m not sure how you access your site to edit it, if it is via the new editor you would click on the Customize button next to Themes from your ‘My Sites’ menu to access your Customizer. From here there should be a Menus option. You can then select the menu you want to edit (or create a new menu). To add a new menu item, click the ‘+ Add Items’ button. You should see a list of pages that you can can add to your menu, and ‘+ Home’ with the the text ‘Custom Link’ next to it should be an option. If not, you can create a Custom Link by selecting the first menu option (Custom Links), typing in your site url, and then adding the text that you want for your Home button. Here’s some more information: https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
If you’re using the WordPress dashboard (iltusuv.wordpress.com/wp-admin/) the process is similar – hover over ‘Appearance’ from your dashboard menu, select ‘Menus’, choose the menu you want to edit or create a new one, then create a custom link from the Custom Links option to the left of the screen.

Hi karenlattfield,
Finally I did. The coexistence of the WordPress dashboard and Customizer created some confusion for me. Using WordPress dashboard was very simple.
Thank you for your time and patience!
