How to reuse my old (currently unused) blog address

  I used to have a blog. I deleted it, now I want to start a new one using the same address but wordpress tells me it’s already taken. Yet when you try to go the address it says it “is no long available. The authors have deleted this site.”

  Could wordpress please let me reuse it?

  No. The warnings say that deletions are permanent and irreversible, and neither you nor anyone else can use that URL again. That is why there are three warnings and an email confirmation. Either pick a new name or use the Custom Domain and Domain Mapping upgrades to get whatever.com instead of whatever.wordpress.com.

  Hi, thanks very much for the response. I did intend permanent deletion and I’m not trying to get any content back. To my mind a proper deletion would make that url available again but what do I know!
