How to revert to 'old' editor?
-
The new post editor is just gawd-awful – How do I lock it out permanently and revert to the previous editor for posts? I have several WP blog platforms, and trying to make this new editor work on them is a major pain in the butt.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi ephemerata,
You can access the WP Admin Dashboard here: https://ephemerata.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

Doesn’t answer the question. Want the “classic” editor as the default, not the “new” (and poor) editor. I admin several blogs. The new editor is a MAJOR aggravation. There is no provision for defaulting editors in the wp-admin.

Ok – did some google searching – get what you were suggesting. That was the way I have always had to to use to get back to the classic editor. Fixed the problem by “other means” now… Really tired of this kind of crap – Firefox pulls the same stunts.

You cannot deactivate the new Beep Beep Boop editor but you do not have to use it. For locating the ways and means of accessing the legacy or classic pages for creating posts, editing posts, and viewing stats see here > Navigating the Classic WordPress.COM interface http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2015/04/05/navigating-the-classic-wordpress-com-interface/
On the dashboard of your own blog at
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New is where to create posts in the classic editor. If you have cookies enabled on your browser your preference will be saved unless or until your clear your cookies, and it will take you to the classic editor automatically every time you create a new post via the drop-down menu in the black admin bar or edit a post via the edit button on the blog itself.Mar 18, 2015, 10:29 AM
The Classic Editor will continue to exist in wp-admin. We know some users prefer to use this editor, so we want you to have access to it, instead of phasing it out with the new version of the Dashboard. However, a link to the Classic Editor will not return to the New Editor. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/when-editing-an-old-post-how-do-i-switch-to-the-classic-editor?replies=5Features that won’t be included in the new editor

Yes, I discovered this. All my blogs have now been “corrected” for the WP induced problem….

This is the second year of the development of the new user interface and you can read a bit more about this plan here: One Central Hub for All Your Content https://en.blog.wordpress.com/2014/12/16/dashboard-update/
