how to review blog before implement layout/theme changes?

  instead of setting the whole blog as private. Is there any way to experiment and preview layout/theme changes without instant change on the end of public view? I hope wordpress.com would take this question a consideration and allow free blogging enjoy such feature.

  it is sometimes quite annoying when you have the testing change appear instantly to the public. preview editing (not just previewing how the post looks like) will definitely favor editing

  Set up a test blog on your account with a name/URL something like mytestblog7301.wordpress.com and then you can export your content and import it into the test site to try things out. Make sure and set the new site to private before doing so to prevent it from inadvertently ending up in the search engines.
