How To Save Blog on Pendrive?
-
Hi. I am on a deadline to save my blog on a pendrive so that it can be viewed without internet connections. But, How do I do this? Is there another simpler way to save the blog on somekind of other media? Blog can be viewed at http://adollaraperson.wordpress.com/

Use the Export function, which I believe will give you an XML file, which other computers of all kinds can read.

I doubt that it will work, because all blog links, img src, style sheet etc. are absolute links, which cannot function without Internet connection. I say it’s a no can do. -
First install WP on a stick:
http://tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/usb/– export your file from your Manage tab
– import the file into the ‘WP on a stick’
It will NOT work right now.
In the software you installed on the stick open phpmyadmin. Find the database. Run this query
update wp_posts set post_content = replace(post_content, ‘/old_path’, ‘/new_path’)
And finally change the Home and Siteurl locations in wp_options.
That should do it… but be sure to copy the images too.

I was going to say go to view source and copy all the page then open notepad and save as .htm (just put .htm after the name) to the desktop and put in a folder and name it this trick works for me but Im connected all the time, from there you can just save to pendrive and when you load it up to the computer just place it on the desktop and you’ll have access to it but I don’t know about offline viewing as style sheet is on a server.
