How to send private message to all followers who signed up?

Hi to you all! I have an idea to make some of my posts and pages password protected so that only followers can access them. Just two quick questions please! Can some password protected posts on WordPress.com (public blog) be read by WP followers, and email followers (non WP members) too? And if so, how can I send a private message to all my followers to alert them and how to access the password protected posts?

They can be read by anyone who has the password.

There is no way to do that on WordPress.com I am afraid.

I was wondering if I can use the private invitation (Invite New Users) from the Users section in the Dashboard, to send out invites to all my followers (who are already registered from my same public WP.com blog) to view my password protected posts and give them the passwords to enter? Can this be done without them having to use the “accept invitation” button as they are already members?

To be honest, I don’t know if that would work or not. You’d have to just give it a try. It isn’t what it’s intended to do, so I’d encourage you to test it.
