How to set a default category/tag?
-
I would like my blog to show only posts from one category (or tagged with a specific tag) on entering it.
Couldn’t find anything in the dashboard, to allow such an option. Is it at all possible? If yes, could you help me out?
Thanks in advance,

I’m not sure this is possible at least I haven’t seen this before.
You could create a text widget and place it prominently in your sidebar to draw attention to it? Simply write a link to the category.
Basically like the text widget at the top of my sidebar labelled ‘Home’.

No there’s no such option: all new posts are supposed to show in the main posts page. The only why to achieve what you want is publish only the posts of that category in the blog, start a second (identically looking) blog, publish the other posts there, get the URLs of the category pages of the second blog and write links to the them in the sidebar of the main one. Not worth the trouble, I think.
Easier workaround: set a low number of posts per page (in Settings>Reading), change the date-stamp of the other-categories posts so that they will show up as older, i.e. after the initial posts page.

thank you panaghiotisadam, I’ve tried the second option you mentioned and i’m virtually content. :)
