how to set a new home page

Is there any way i can set another page as the default home page for my site?
And is there any way I can have multiple posts on my static home page?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Have you checked the Front Page support document?
Yes, you can have multiple posts. You have only one post as of now. Multiple posts will appear as you keep adding more.

By definition, posts are not displayed on a static homepage, they are displayed on a separate posts page.
Certain themes do have a special section on the front page template, intended to be assigned to a static front page, which display your latest posts in addition to your static page content. For example, Edin and Goran are two themes that include this feature. You also have the option of displaying posts on a static page using the Display Posts shortcode and in a widget area using the Recent Posts widget.

When I set my blog up, I accidently had the static page box checked but had it marked as having recent posts as well. Now sometimes my posts don’t show up when I hit publish…it scared me at first because I hit publish then went to view post and it wasn’t there. But I would go to the posts page and there it was.
By chance, I went looked at that setting and sure enough that box was unchecked. So I checked it, and then the post appeared. So now sometimes it just unchecks itself and my posts don’t show up…
Is there any way to fix this?
I started my own thread about this but no one responded, so I thought I’d try here….
