how to set my blog up so that it creates excerpts on the blog page
-
The issue is as follows:
I’ve created a blog page on my wordpress blog site (www.miliscorner.wordpress.com). I’d like to use this page as a landing page for the excerpts of my blogs and the reader can then read whichever post takes his/her fancy.
I’ve had a look on the forums, however I don’t follow how exactly I’m supposed to set that up. I have manually selected some text from my first blog post and entered it in the excerpt section in the editor, however it doesn’t create the excerpt on the blog page.
I am not tech savvy hence why quite a few of the suggestions don’t make sense.
Any help with this is much appreciated.
Thanks,

Hi Mili!
If I understand correctly, the main goal is to limit the amount of content shown on your blog page so the full article doesn’t show. Is that correct?
If so, the easiest way to do that is through the More tag shown here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/excerpts/
Can you give that a try?

Hey Jeremey!
Thanks so much for your assistance. After I posted this question, I was playing around trying to sort this out, and didn’t realise WP has a chat function so a staff member helped me sort it out :).
I did take a bit of content and put it on to the excerpt box, on the new editor however that didn’t do the trick. So he suggested to use the ‘Read more’ tag and it’s doing what I wanted it to do :).
