How to set up a home page like this.

  On this WordPress site:
  http://www.larrymoorestudios.com/
  the artist’s home page has a spot for latest blog post, upcoming events, and newest art. Any suggestions on how to set up a home page with those content blocks? Would it be projects/portfolios? Or a widget?

  I’m also trying to find either the same theme or a similar one that allows this kind of setup. Any suggestions?

  Thanks for the theme ideas. I see a couple that should work. Still not sure about how to make the magazine style home page feature content as I described, separate blocks for 1. most recent blog post, 2. latest painting, 3. upcoming events.
