How to set up free website to try out themes?

  I have a wordpress.com account and have been using the Reader for a while. I don’t have a website, so if I click on ‘My Site’ I get a dialogue which wants to help me set one up. However, at step 4 the dialogue insists I select a domain, whereas I want to kick things off with a free wordpress subdomain. This doesn’t appear to be an option. Help?

  A word or phrase added at step four will get you a free address displayed below the offers of two paid for ones. You can fine tune the address before accepting.
  PS: If you chose “blog” at step one you’ll be offered a free .blog subdomain. Choosing “business” should get you the offer of a free .wordpress.com subdomain if that is what you’d prefer.
