How to set up home page on Ippo theme
-
Hello,
I have just purchased the Ippo theme, unfortunately I am lost!
I am a Art Director who wants to list portfolio works interspersed with blog posts etc, in the magazine style.
The preview in Ippo looks great, is there a way I can use the same template and change the images and text within?
Thanks

Hi Mats –
I’ll be happy to help you get your site set up. These are the Ippo setup instructions: https://wordpress.com/theme/ippo/setup
Can you tell me which part you’re having trouble with?
Here’s the site demo for reference as well:

Hey Liz,
Thank you so much!
I think I was initially frustrated when I installed the theme. I didn’t understand what the difference was between creating ‘Blog Posts’ and ‘Portfolio Posts’ – they looked the same to me.
So I think I have made life easier for myself, by keeping just ONE page. I’m posting all my projects and articles just like blog posts and they seem to look fine for the moment.
I was trying to get the mailchimp widget working, for subscribers. However the only option seems to be adding a ‘pop up’ widget which is kind of annoying and invasive. Was wondering it there was a way to have the widget on the sidebar asking people to put in their email to subscribe.
But that aside, I would be very grateful if you would have a look once I’m done with it, hopefully in the next coupe of weeks? Just basic feedback?
Thanks so much

Hi Mats –
Let me know when you’d like me to take another look at the site, just come back and post here for me.
The MailChimp widget only works via a pop up. What you can do instead is add a follow blog widget, this is where folks can subscribe via their email addresses instead of a WordPress.com user account.
Here are the details: https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/follow-blog-widget/
