How to setup mail on another provider
-
Hello.
I would like to setup my mail on another provider. But the data I have gotten from them does not look like the one WP wants me to write in.The only place I can write in my mail-extensions is in DNS-protocoll.
And in there it is asking for many different things.
But what I have gotten from my webhotel that sold me my webadress is the following:Subdomain: @
Typ: MX
Data: 10 mail.trassl.seSubdomain: @
Typ: MX
Data: 20 mail2.trassl.seSubdomain: imap
Typ: A
Data: 1.1.1.1Subdomain: mail
Typ: A
Data: 1.1.1.1Subdomain: mail2
Typ: A
Data: 1.1.1.1Subdomain: pop3
Typ: A
Data: 1.1.1.1Subdomain: smtp
Typ: A
Data: 1.1.1.1Note: I have changed in this question the ip-adress to something completly different…
My provider have told me that I need to write those data in exactly to make it work properly all over. But I do not find the place to do that!
The reason I choosed another provider for my emails is because WP does not support the ending .se when I wanted to upgrade my free account to a premium. And there I got free emails, so I do not want to use the GSuite WP recommends…How do I do?

Hello!
I’m not entirely familiar with email forwarding on WordPress, but this article explains how to forward you email with your custom domain to an other email address. Have you already tried this method?
You can configure Email Forwarding by Navigating to My Sites > Domains. On this domain management page, select the domain you want to connect to email forwarding to load that domain’s settings page. Select Email.
On the email settings page, select Email Forwarding.
To set up a new email forward, enter the new email address with your custom domain in the Emails Sent To field, and the destination email address in the Will Be Forwarded To field. After entering these settings, click Add new Email Forward.

Hi there,
You can find our instructions on adding custom DNS records to your domain here:
I’m also happy to add the records for you, but I’ll need the actual IP addresses for the A records to do that. IPs for mail servers aren’t confidential, and anyone will be able to view those records on your domain once they are added, so there is no reason to try and hide them here in the forums.

Email forwarding is something completely different from connecting a domain to hosted email at another provider.

Okay, I have added the records as you’ve given them here. The email should be working within a few hours, but if it doesn’t please check with Binero.se that there isn’t anything else needed, and let me know if anything should be changed.
