How to setup subdomain for a shop

  I have a wordpress.com blog and a domain registered elsewhere. I want to setup a subdomain for a shop to shop.partigems.com.

  My domain is registered elsewhere but the DNS have been set to wordpress.com

  I have an OpenCart shopping cart hosted elsewhere.

  I thought I could add an A record to the DNS setting on wordpress.com for shop.partigems.com that directed to the servers where I have the OpenCart installation. They have 3 DNS IPs so I added 3 new A records – one for each IP address.

  Not sure but don’t think it works.

  Am I on the right track with this?
