how to: setup subscribe to blog/comments via email, override group ID
-
I’ve created a secure WordPress-based content/educational portal for a client. I want to allow client class participants to subscribe via email to new blog posts and blog comments; (RSS isn’t necessary, it’s too complicated for our audience). We’re currently using a single group log-in and user-id for all participants (client’s preference), and all built-in WordPress email subscription functions and email subscription plug-ins that I’ve found so far will default to that single user-id and the email associated with it. So, when a participant (logged in with the single group ID) tries to subscribe, it defaults to the email of the group ID. We want a way to override the email associated with that group ID, so participants can enter their own email when subscribing (preferably without doing a lot of custom programming).

timethief, thanks for the reply and links.
The blog is a secure client site, so i can’t post a login on a public forum.

Posting the link simply means that we Volunteers can examine the log-in box and see whether or not you are referring to a free hosted WordPress.com blog that we do provide support for, or if you like 30% of those who post here are actually referring to a wordpress.org install, which we do not provide support for. We cannot see the blog content. Before we start providing any support we Volunteers verify the link.

it’s my own wp install, hosted on my servers, so it appears that you don’t support it. the link: http://cli-launchpad.com. Sorry to bug you!
