How to share a video post with thumbnail on Facebook?!

  I have the option at the bottom of each post to share to FB. I just tried to share my first video but there’s no thumbnail! That’s not good! Please help!!

  Thanks for responding but that’s not a thumbnail image from the video. It’s my blog image. I want the videos to show thumbnails from the actual video like they do if you post to FB directly from Youtube etc…

  Howdy,

  With your theme, you can upload a featured image that Facebook will see and use. The Featured Image can be set/uploaded at the lower-right of the post editor page ( at https://roadogsandrescue.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=237&action=edit ).

  When Facebook scans a page, it looks for image files on the page itself and doesn’t scan any further (e.g. into the videos you posted). On YouTube itself, they have an image of a screenshot embedded within the page’s code for Facebook to grab.

  Since WordPress doesn’t process the video (just displays the code from YouTube to include it), it doesn’t have a screenshot image to share with Facebook and since Facebook doesn’t dive any deeper, it doesn’t try YouTube for an image.
