how to show categories on home page with sing post

  I am trying to show all the categores on my home page with the latest one topic but could not find the solution so please help me to get this list on home page

  I’m not quite sure what you’re asking. If you want your home page to list all your categories, just put the category widget in the sidebar. If you want to put it in a blog post or static page, just copy the whole list from your sidebar and paste it into the Visual editor.

  The wordpress.com blog linked to your username is empty so I doubt that your categories question is about it. Are you asking about another blog? If so please post the complete URL for it starting with the http:// prefix.

  thank you all of to rply actually I am trying to make home page that displays category with latest post posted in it actually I visited a website also but couldnot get how they get it. I want to make my home page just like http://www.articlecity.com made it
  so please give me your some valuable suggestions .

  My suggestions: Make blog posts. When you do, make sure you add them to categories in the sidebar.

  You want to make your home page just like http://www.articlecity.com made it, but that’s a website, not a blog. There’s no way to do that in a wp.com blog.

  @nitin2r : Probably you should checkout the Hemingway theme. It lists the categories on the home page , and also the latest posts, along with two latest posts on the top.

  Now, how did you install that plugin in your wordpress.com blog ? If your question was related so some site which is not hosted in wordpress.com then this is the wrong place to get the problem solved.
