How to show more Excerpts in categories
-
I use Twenty Ten theme as this allows my blog to show Excepts when anyone clicks on the Categories link. Can I set this to show more than 3 (excerpts of) posts within categories. I have the front page set to only show 3 posts as most of my posts are usually photo-heavy. Since the excerpts are only a few lines, with no photos, I’d like to show about 10.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi. Settings > Reading > Blog pages show at most… works for everything. You can’t have a separate setting for the front page and another for the categories I’m afraid.

I think I may go up to about 4 or 5 posts, and hope most visitors to my blog use the menus on the pages on the header; these show my useful categories.

I’d suggest you use the read-more tag or pagination to show only a portion of each post on your home page. Then you can set the number of pages to show to a higher number without slowing down the page load time.
