how to show my front page widget? Theme: Edin

  I have made the Grid Pages, but I can’t display my front page widget, even I have selected different pages in theme option ‘front page one/two/three’.

  My plan is same like the demo one, but put some video in the middle. Please help me

  Hi,

  The front page on the demo is not a grid page. That is, it is not assigned to the Grid Page Template. Rather, it is assigned to the Front Page Template. See the appropriate section of the Edin theme guide for the instructions on setting up a front page of this type.

  Once you assign the page to the front page template, then you’ll be able to display a widget containing a video in any of the three optional front page widget areas.

  i have set the page in Front page template, but it still don’t show in my home page.
  By the way, how should I set the front page one two three? By Appearance- widgets- front page one/ two/ three? or in customise-theme option- front page one/ two/ three?

  What doesn’t show? Widgets? Did you create and activate widgets? Only widgets that you’ve placed in one of the front page widget areas, added content to (if necessary), and activated will display.

  It doesn’t matter whether you work on widgets at Customize or at Appearance > Widgets. The result should be the same in either case.

  yap, I found out that when I want to customise my widgets, it doesn’t show ‘front page one/two/three’ option. How can I ACTIVATE this?

  I wasn’t able to duplicate the issue you describe. With the Edin theme activated, widget area Front Page One, Two, and Three display, both at Appearance > Widgets, and at Appearance > Customize > Widgets. They show by default; there’s no toggle to enable or disable them at Screen Options on the Widgets page.

  If you continue to have trouble customizing the widgets, then you may add a “modlook” tag to the sidebar of this topic to call for staff attention.

  Your front page is still assigned to the Grid Page template.

  If you want to display the Front Page widget areas on your homepage, you’ll need to assign your page to the Front Page template instead.
