How to show my post with 4 images?

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi! I have a problem about showing my post in Reader feed page or in tag feed page. I notice my post show with one image and detail in the left of image. How can I do to show my post with 4 images and post title & it description will be below?

Before, my posts was shown with 4 images + post title & description are below.

    And another question
I imported my back up file but it appeared that the file was sent to my mail. I need to log in and download it so i can get this file. It’s very inconvenience. What should I do so I don’t need to look in my mail?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

The Reader automatically generates that card based on the content of your post. Specifically, if you have 4 or more images in the post that are more than 350 pixels wide, the gallery card should be used, but in some cases the Reader might select only the first or the featured image.

Looking at your posts in the Reader and on your site itself it appears your posts vary in terms of content, so it’s normal that the Reader cards should also vary from post to post.

I imported my back up file but it appeared that the file was sent to my mail. I need to log in and download it so i can get this file.

Export files will only download directly if you have only a little content on your site. On your site the export file is already becoming too big for direct download, though, which is why we email you a download link instead where you can download a .zip folder of the export.

The only way to prevent this is to have less content on your site.

    Thanks for reply.

Then how can I choose to make my post is shown with 4 images? Are there setting somewhere, or I should not set the feature image?

Because most posts in my blog has more than 4 images & wide more than 350 px.

    Thanks for reply in advance.

  • There is no setting for this. The Reader analyses the content of your site and then selects the card to use based on that. Usually if the post has 4 usable images the Reader will use the gallery card, but you can’t force it if it doesn’t.

I notice that in your posts showing the four images in the Reader you only use single images, while in the posts where you use image galleries the Reader only shows the one image. That might be related, so I’ll ask a developer to also take a look and make sure everything is working as it should.

  • It seems there might indeed be an issue regarding how the Reader treats images in galleries in your posts. We’re looking into it.

Thank you for considering my request. I hope this will not make you & developer get trouble too much. But I don’t know how to do except seek help from you.

  • No trouble at all. We appreciate that you reported this, as it should show all the images for those posts of yours. The team is working on fixing it.

It appeared that my posts (recently) still show one image only (in the Reader).

  • Hi there,

We’re still working on this, yes. The problem is being caused by the galleries in the post that show image thumbnails that are smaller than the minimum size required by the Reader.

For now, if you make sure that the first 4 images in your post are not in a gallery and/or displaying on your site at bigger than 350 pixels wide, it should use the gallery card in the Reader.

then if I adjust images as you suggested, these will include old posts that already published too or not?

If so, I will try adjust them.

  • If you update older posts in the same way they should update in the Reader as well, yes.
