    Hi,

    I am using the Hever theme and I have added Blog page as Posts page but when I visit blog page it shows /blog-2 link.

    And in this page, all the posts are shown with full content. On blog listing page I want to show the blog listing but only with the title. But currently, it is appearing with all blog content.

    Can anyone please help me?

    Hi,

    What’s the address of the site? If you created a new page titled blog and it’s slug automatically became “blog-2,” that indicates that there is another page, published or unpublished, on the site with the slug “blog.”

    I have added Blog page as Posts page
    What do you mean by a “Blog page as Posts page”?

    how to show only listing in blog page?
    What do you mean by “only listing”? If you just want to display a link list to a certain number of recent posts, then perhaps the Latest Posts Block would be suitable.

    I mean I create a page with title Blog and then from wp-admin/options-reading.php page I added Posts page to Blog.

    I tried this but its not working. https://happyplace0.wordpress.com/blog-2/

    Please help.

  • Hi Pooja, recently some sites were coming up with blog-2 in starter content. Please edit the blog 2 page and change its address to blog, then save your changes.

    If that does not fix it for you, let us know and we’ll dig deeper, but I’m betting that’ll solve the problem.

    @supernovia,

    The page https://happyplace0.wordpress.com/blog is set as the homepage of the site. The slug “blog” doesn’t show because it’s the homepage.

    I called for staff attention because it’s not clear to me what @pooja2810 is asking for. Presently the homepage is a static page with a couple of posts displayed. The posts page is set to display on the page titled “Blog,” which was evidently automatically assigned the slug “blog-2,” because the slug “blog” was already used.

    @pooja2810,

    I mean I create a page with title Blog and then from wp-admin/options-reading.php page I added Posts page to Blog.

    It sounds like you’re saying that at WP-Admin Reading Settings, you chose the page titled “Blog” from the drop-down menu labeled “Post page.” If that’s what you’ve done, then you’ve obtained the correct results. Your page titled “Blog” is the posts page.

    And in this page, all the posts are shown with full content. On blog listing page I want to show the blog listing but only with the title. But currently, it is appearing with all blog content.

    The Hever theme doesn’t have a built-in option that allows only post titles to display on the posts page. However, you may customize it so that it displays only post title links and metadata by inserting a More Tag (Classic Editor or WP-Admin Editor) or More Block (Block Editor) to each post at the top of the editor window.

    Re: my comment above that “Your page titled “Blog” is the posts page.”

    If you have two pages titled “Blog,” then it might be a good idea to change one of the titles, so that there won’t be this sort of confusion when selecting one page for the homepage and one as the posts page at Homepage Settings.

  • Ah. Thanks, I didn’t notice that. @pooja2810, if you wanted to edit the home page and change its slug to something else, that may let you use /blog if you wanted to.
