How to show only summary of posts on blog home page?

  On my photography blog home page, stevespictures.wordpress.com for each post I see the title, text and then ALL the thumbnails or tiled photos included in that post. I would like the home page to have just the title and a short summary (and perhaps a photo) for each post, not the whole post. How can I do that?
