How to show posts in summary form in the mo. archives & categories w 2011 theme?

  Today, I switched my blog’s theme from Twenty Ten to Twenty Eleven to be more mobile user friendly.

  In the monthly archives and categories, posts now display in entirety (full) and not summary form in the Twenty Eleven theme. With Twenty Ten, these had displayed in summary form in the monthly archives and categories.

  Is there a setting whereby the old posts can be displayed in summary form in the archives and under the categories with this Twenty Eleven theme? (With 450 essays (posts) now, that is the preferred option for us.) We are not referring to splitting content with the more-tag for new posts.
