How to show the post category in the "Latest Posts" block's meta

Hello,
I am brand new to blogging and WordPress, so I apologise for the beginner’s question; I’ve been searching and testing for over 1 hour without success. I hope you guys can help. I figure it should be something pretty easy 😅
In the Latest Posts block, I am trying to have displayed the category assigned to a post in the meta section below the post’s title, where the date and author appear.
In the Block settings, I only have “Display author name” and “Display post date”. I have been unable to figure out how to activate the category.

Hi there,
The “latest posts block” does not include many display options, so there is not a way to add a line to display the category the post is filed under.
Instead you may wish to use the Query Loop block to create a list of recent posts. This block is more flexible in it’s customization and will allow you to add a display for the post category: https://wordpress.com/support/full-site-editing/theme-blocks/query-loop-block/#post-categories-block

Thank you, with the Query Loop I can now add the category. However it seems I can only add it on a new line and not beside the post date, is that correct or am I missing something?
