How to show thumbnail on blog instead of entire youtube video?
-
I would like to know if it is possible to show a thumbnail of the video i want on my page, instead of the giant youtube video??
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

At Settings -> Media in your Dashboard, what size do you have set for “Maximum size for auto-embeds” ?
-
under setting– media, it has three option for image sizes…
Thumbnail size Width:150 Height:150
Medium size Max Width:300 Max Height:300
Large size Max Width:1024 Max Height:1024is this what i’m looking for??

I believe it is but I could be wrong. I recall setting the width and height attributes in the link itself.
Example: http://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/youtube/#video-customization-options
To specify the width and height explicitly:
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaNH56Vpg-A&w=320&h=240] -

thank you…
also.. once i embed the video it shows up to the middle of the page..
is there any way to move the video to the side (left)?? -

This example worked in my test blog.
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaNH56Vpg-A&w=320&h=150] -
i was able to embed the video and get the size down.. i just wanted to have the words and video right next to each other (side by side).. but maybe its my theme that won’t allow me to do that.
my words are aligned to the left.. while my video is under the words toward the middle of the page

I’m sorry but you will have to wait for another Volunteer, most likely justpi to assist you with your alignment issue.

It didn’t amount to much as I don’t use thumbnail sized youtubes and haven’t experienced this alignment issue myself. It’s going to come down to coding into the Text (HTML) editor and justpi excels in that.
