How to Spell Check with the new block editor?
-
Once WP eliminated the spell check feature in the editor a few generations ago, I installed the Grammarly (and Ginger) extensions to my browser (Chrome). It works like a charm with everything in my browser (including this help page), but NOT in the new WP block editor. I can find no way to spell check my posts within the new editor. Please help!

Hi there,
Yes, Spell Check feature is no longer available in the WordPress editors. All of the main browsers now have competent spell check features already integrated:

However, a report has been filed about potentially replacing the old spell check feature:

Thanks for the reply. I was able to turn on Google spell checker, but why can’t the new editor work with extensions like Grammarly (which I use) or Ginger as it did before? It seems ridiculous.

Hi there – Grammarly user here myself. I’ve added these as ideas for future enhancements to our editor. Thanks so much for sharing this with us. Let us know if you need anything else.
