How to split WordPress sites??
-
I’m not certain what’s going on here — let me explain.
I have two WordPress blogs/websites.
One site serves my neighborhood homeowners’ association with meeting announcements, photos, Association documents, and other matters of interest to property owners.
The other site is my own hobby site about my amateur radio hobby.
For some reason, these two sites are “combined” — that’s the best way I can describe it. To login to my amateur radio site, I must login to the Association site, then, on the Association site dashboard, I can switch sites and work on the hobby site.
I want two separate sites, each with its own user name and password. How can I do this?
Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi pbepoa,
For some reason, these two sites are “combined” — that’s the best way I can describe it.
There are two sites listed in your account:
- pbepoa.com
- w4hhorg.wordpress.com
While the two sites are not connected to eachother (each one is a separate domain), they are both owned by your pbepoa account.
I want two separate sites, each with its own user name and password. How can I do this?
This can be achieved by creating a second WordPress.com account, then transferring ownership of one site to that account.
Have you already created a second account? And is pbepoa.com the site you wish to manage through your pbepoa account?
Just let me know and we can look at the next steps.
Thanks!

No, I have not created a second WordPress site. I’ll try to do that, then, transfer the w4hh site to the new account.
I’ll come back to this forum and let you know if I was able to do it.
Thanks.

I can’t find how to create a second account.
I want to manage pbepoa through pbepoa and I want a completely separate account managed through w4hh with userid w4hh and a password different from the pbepoa passowrd, and, a contact email different from the pbepoa site.
As things are now, whenever someone sends an email to the w4hh site, it shows up in the Association email.

Every WordPress.COM username account is also a Gravatar account and is associated with a single email address. Only one gravatar will be provided for each username account.
Separate accounts – Separate blogs
1. You log out, clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies,
and then without logging in again, you register another username account under a different email address.2. You log out, clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies and log in under the old username account.
3. Then you add the new username account as an Admin https://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/ to the site you want to transfer to it.
4. Lastly, you transfer the blog to the new username account. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

Hi pbepoa,
The steps @timethief provided will guide you through the process of creating a second account and transferring ownership of w4hhorg.wordpress.com there — just let me know if you have any questions about that.
As things are now, whenever someone sends an email to the w4hh site, it shows up in the Association email.
Once w4hhorg.wordpress.com has been transferred to the new account, those emails will be separate from pbepoa.com.
I’ll be here if you need any help.

THAT DID IT!!! THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO CONTRIBUTED.
Here’s what happened.
I manage FOUR WordPress sites:
1. Homeowners’ association
2. My amateur radio site — these two (1 and 2) are the two that were linked together.
3. Site for my local political party
4. Site for another political partyNow, after following the instructions above, when I go to my bookmark that I titled “WordPress dashboard,” I find each of the four sites on a drop down menu for login. When I select one to log into, that site’s password appears and I log into that site and only that site.
Previously, if I was not careful, I’d end up posting a political party announcement on the homeowners’ association site, etc., etc.
THANKS TO ALL FOR YOU HELP.

Hi pbepoa,
That’s great to hear :) I noticed w4hhorg.wordpress.com is still listed in your pbepoa account — do you want to remove the site from this account completely? Or are you happy to keep things as they are?
