How to spread the word about a blog?
-
I am terribly new to the blogging business and although I have a few readers, like everyone else, I would prefer a huge audience.
Can anyone give tips on spreading the word about my blog? Currently, I send it updates via email, facebook and twitter, but I seldom get more than a total of thirty readers.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I am in the same boat. If you like, I will post a link to your blog on mine in exchange for you posting mine on yours.

Have you tried a forum search? Always do that first. There are over a thousand tips already in the forum.

Calebsynan, sounds good. I’ll link to your blog if you link to mine. That’s sounds great. Thank you.

disembedded: raincoaster is such a big shot, she refers to herself in the third person AND refused to answer questions that she’s already answered hundreds of times.

You don’t even need the search – just page back through the Support Forum going back about a week in each topic – I would be amazed if you did not find at least 12 threads with almost your exact question.
Your question is one of the most common ask ones.

Here is a compact, but very useful guide right in the support pages here.

In defense of RC, the percentage of questions that I answer that require only a couple of minutes with the search Support Doc’s. is very high, and that is using the words the person asking the question put in the post.
The other good one is to ask a question that has another thread with the exact question only a couple of lines down.
To me it is discouraging to see the number of people that ask questions that are covered on the opening page of the Support Documents. I guess I should not be amazed anymore. And it takes more time to ask a question here and wait for a reply than to spend 2 or 3 minutes looking at the Support Documents.

The thing is, if someone won’t search the forum, they won’t search the support docs or TT’s site either, so you have a choice to spoon-feed them or teach them to search.
