How to start a members only section on my blog

  I would like to have a members only section on my blog so that my subscribers can see bonus recipes. The bonus recipes would be for subscribers only. How would I do this? I’ve already tried having a password protected page and its not working the way that I thought it would or the way that I would like it to work. So another thought that I had (I’m not sure if this would work) is that I could password protect the “bonus recipe posts” and have a page for those bonus recipes. Would that work? Any feedback or ideas would be helpful.

  That really isn’t possible at wordpress.COM. The only option available here would be password protecting things.

  It can be done on a self-hosted wordpress blog, but some of the plugins that provide that functionality are really stripped down and you have to pay to get all the features and some of them are pretty pricey.
