How to start a new website directly with Premium WordPress.com

  Hi,

  I would like to know whether it is possible to start a website directly with the Premium WordPress.com package or do I have to start as a free WordPress.com website first and have to upgrade it.

  I’ve been at WordPress.com nine years as of yesterday, and I am going to give you some advice. Do not buy ANY upgrades except the Custom Domain and Mapping for at least two weeks. Create the site, get it looking the way you want, make several posts and pages and play around with things and themes and widgets. Then and only then when you have a full understanding of the way things work and what is possible should you pay to upgrade beyond the custom domain.

  Quite a lot of the time people find after buying upgrades that they really want to have a WordPress.ORG blog, or that they can do what they want without any upgrades at all. But they don’t find that out in a couple of days.

  The Custom Domain is in my opinion never a bad choice because it’s one thing you can take with you to the next website should you decide to leave. And the earlier you get it the better, for seo reasons.

  Thank you very much for your reply.

  If I understand correctly I can buy the domain for like 18 per year and start using this domain with the free version of the website. Then If everything works okay for me. I can decide to Upgrade to the Premium version?

  Is this how it works.
