How to start from scratch but keep the same domain name

Hello. Our WordPress blog was set up by a third party, who used a vertex framework. However, this is far too difficult for us to use – we just want something simple. In the simplest terms, then, how do we go about completely deleting the content and replacing it with new pages using a new theme, but still retaining the same domain name? (Please point me in the direction of some basic instructions if possible – I am an everyday person, so don’t assume that I know anything at all about technical stuff!)

That site is not on our WordPress.COM servers. You are posting to the wrong support forum.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums.
