How to stick post on the top of the page?
-
I am very pleased that the option of making a post sticky is added. However, the posts I made sticky still does not stick. They still move further away when I add a new post. I also made sure that I made them sticky and not the new posts. How can I make a post stick on top of the page even if I add a new post?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
I see your site is set up with a static front page, and instead of having a separate blog page for all your posts you are using category pages. In that case, you won’t see a difference with sticky posts.
Sticky posts are meant to stick certain posts to the top of your blog page. However, the posts on your category pages will always be shown in chronological order — sticky posts won’t be stuck to the top of those pages.
If you’d like, you can set up a blog page in your site’s reading settings (under Settings > Reading in the dashboard). You can choose a page there to use as your blog page, and you’ll see the sticky posts stuck to the top of that page. (We also have more details in our Front Page guide.)
Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)

Is there a way we can stick posts to the top or make posts of only one category appear on a page?

If you set up a blog page in your site’s reading settings, you can stick posts to the top of that page. To do that, you can create a new (blank) page you want to use as your blog page. Then, head to your site’s reading settings — next to “Front page displays” you can go to “Posts page:” and choose the page to use for your blog page.
Then, you can set posts to be sticky posts and they will stick to the top of that blog page.

Is there a way that a page will only display posts from certain category and have a certain post always on top?
As you can see from my blog, I want it to stay that way but stick a post on top.

Hi there,
Rachel has been out of the office for a few days so I’m taking a look at her tickets.
I’m afraid there is not any way to set a sticky post and have that stickiness come through on a category page. It only behaves “sticky” on the regular home page for blog posts.
