How to stop 500 errors from bots probing
-
I am seeing lots of 500 errors from bots that are apparently probing around all of my WordPress sites, on URLs like the following that aren’t supposed to be directly accessed… here’s the few I see a lot.
/wp-includes/blocks/
Undefined constant “ABSPATH” in /var/www/html/wp-includes/blocks/index.php:8
Stack trace: 0 {main} thrown in /var/www/html/wp-includes/blocks/index.php on line 8/wp-settings.php
Undefined constant “ABSPATH” in /var/www/html/wp-settings.php:33
Stack trace: 0 {main} thrown in /var/www/html/wp-settings.php on line 33/wp-admin/includes/admin.php
Call to undefined function get_locale() in /var/www/html/wp-admin/includes/admin.php:16
Stack trace: 0 {main} thrown in /var/www/html/wp-admin/includes/admin.php on line 16This happens to me with any brand new WordPress install, right out of the box.
Is this expected? Or is there something I’m supposed to do, or can do, to block bots from probing around like this and causing these errors?

We can’t help as your sites aren’t running on the wordpress.com platform. You must take a look in the documentation at wordpress.org or find you a good hosting provider who knows his job
