How to Stop Domain mapping
-
I bought the upgare to map my WP.com blog to my own domain and now I want the domain mapping. How is this done?

Thanks, but What I want to see happen is to log into my WordPress.com account, go to settings, and under domains – not see it mapping my WordPress.com blog to my domain outside of WordPress. Today, it has my blog at WordPress and my regular domain and the put blog here still shows it mapping to my regular domain.
Thanks
Chris

I’m confused about what you have written. If it shows (put blog here) for your regular domain, then it means that the blog is NOT currently mapped there.
-
Are you talking about the blog linked in your user name? If so, what you should see under domains is
gammona.com – your blog url
XXX.wordpress.com – redirecting to gammona.com (put blog here)To put the blog back to the XXX.wordpress.com, click on the (put blog here)
-
This almost works – I want to turn off domain mapping, and I did click on the “put blog here” and now the blog shows up the way I want at http://l2foundation.wordpress.com — but, when I login at wordpress.com, or when I click on “My Dashboard” on this blog, it won’t let me go to my /wp-admin/ dashboard! It only goes to the blog!

Under Users (I think) you can specify who is an administrator and who is an author. When you login as an administrator you will be able to go to the dashboard.

correction: my problem got resolved. It took a few more minutes for my domain mapping changes to propagate to all of the related wordpress.com plumbing, like the Dashboard. All working now, as expected, for me.
