How to stop email notifications from sending to old admin?

Email notifications are still being sent to a person who no longer administers the blog. The email account is no longer associated with a valid user, but still receives notification such as so and so is now following your blog. How can this be prevented from happening?

It sounds like the user in question is still somehow connected to the blog.
I’m assuming you’ve been to the users>all users page on your dashboard and removed the old administrator from there by clicking the “remove” link that appears when you hover over their entry.
If the user in question is still listed as a user, but not as an administrator he/she might be able to stop receiving notifications by going to the settings>discussion page on his/her dashboard and unchecking the notifications boxes.
If none of that works (and it sounds like you’ve already been through these steps) You’ll need to have a staff person take a look. I’ll tag the thread “modlook” so they will know we need expert help. In the meantime, could you provide the e-mail address for the user in question? The forum will automatically redact the address so only staff can see it, but having it will help them figure out what’s up.

All of your blog’s notifications are being sent to the email address in your account settings: https://wordpress.com/settings/account/
Could you let me know what email address is receiving email notifications instead? I can check that email address in our system. (You can include the email address in your reply and our forum software will hide it from everyone except staff.)

The email address still receiving notification is (email visible only to moderators and staff). We have removed it from everything in our settings, so it must be in the back end? Thanks for looking into it!

Thanks for letting me know. I checked to make sure your email address is the only one being used for your blog in our system. Can you keep an eye on it from here on out, and let me know if the next email notification goes to the right email address?
If it still goes to the wrong email address after this, please let me know so we can keep investigating.
