how to stop 'google search engine' from including my private entries into their search res
-
Hi, i was wondering how to prevent the wordpress entries i’ve marked as ‘private’ (or ‘password protected’) to stop from showing up in google search. i understand that someone still couldn’t access the link without my wordpress password but i don’t even want the entry titles to show up. thinking the problem may have to do with google caches and the fact that some one these entries were once public. is there a way to fix this? my email address is (email visible only to moderators and staff) . thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello jogabot,
Yes, as you mentioned, the issue is that the posts were already crawled and indexed by search engines like Google. Marking them private afterward doesn’t remove them from Google’s indexes.
There was discussion of this in another thread (a bit old, but still relevant, I think): https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/private-posts-appearing-on-google/page/2?replies=39
Once stuff is on the internet, it’s pretty hard to have it removed…
Best,

Hi there,
You can have already-indexed posts removed from Google, but you’ll need to contact Google yourself to request that, and they’ll require you to verify your site with them first to prove your ownership:
