how to stop sending full content of blogs to email followers?

    Hello,
    I added the gadget which shows up in left side of page, deleted and it is gone as described here https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/follow-blog-widget/. However there is still in right down corner pop up where visiter can add email and as soon as is sth published it will be send in full to that email, is there a way how to cancel that?

    Sending a link, hey there is sth new – check it out si ok, but not full content. Newsletter which I will write is ok too, but not this.

    There is private option but that is not it. I want the site to be public, but not to send my content to anyone in full.

    Is there any way how to do that? Public web, no full content in email?

    What is sent out to subscribers is drawn from your RSS feed for posts.

    Although you can set your RSS Feed to summary, that setting here > Settings > Reading is only for the RSS Feed summary and does not affect the posts.

    When it comes to inserting “the more tag” AKA “the read more tag” into posts to shorten front page display be splitting text there is no universal setting for the whole blog. This is done post by post.

    If you want to display only excerpts on the front page of the blog followed by read more links, you can insert “the more tag” into each post prior to publication.

    The read more tag can be inserted once only into any post to change the front page or main page for posts display from full post to an excerpt. The split in the text does not display to you in preview mode but it will be there after the post is published.

    Alternatively, you can switch to using a theme that automatically displays front page excerpts.
