How to stop wordads

Suddenly my site has started displaying some words in orange with double underline and when I mouse over them adds come up. Also when I go back I get a full-page add, not the page I wanted to go back to. I assume these are wordadds, how do I stop them?

Those are not WordAds. They are the result of a browser add-on “text enhance”. It’s not easy to disable. You can try to delete the program as they do offer a way to stop the Ads by using a check box, but the next time you clear your cookies, they send a new cookie and the text-enhance is back on your computer. OK, than you. it sounds like this is not a wordpress thing but a browser thing. I’m using a Linux browser now and it doesn’t show up. Thank you much, I’ll share your answer with my friends.

WordPress.com does not use text enhance or text link ads or pop-up ads or links in comments. We have discovered various kinds of adware and malware is embedded in shareware and most but not all is found in browser extensions.
