How to style linking text in posts in The Columnist theme

For many of the links (i.e., a, a:hover, etc.) in The Columnist, I have a “bottom-border” of one pixel in a different color (for the navigational elements at the bottom of the page, for instance), the text itself being white (I have a black background), but in the text in single posts (and pages) I’ve only been able either to get the linking text to display as white without this underline in a different color, or to have it and the underline in that other color. I attempted to use the “!important” command in the appropriate places in the CSS, but without any visible change. Is there something I’m overlooking in the code?

Can you give us a link to a page with links in the content please?

If you use “!important” too many times, it can start to overlap and become a bit hard to manage. Make sure to use it sparingly.

I agree we need to see an example link. Without one, it’s hard to make guesses, especially since you’ve already modified CSS.
