How to submit your blog to search engines?

When I post about a highly topical issue I receive very few hits from search engines and this may be down to my blog being hidden or something along those lines? Can anyone tell how to allow search engine access to my blog and to submit my blog url to them? Thanks for your help :)

WordPress automatically pings all major search engines and services for you each time you publish a post.
You have been blogging it appears like from September of 2011, and it can take 6 months to a year for a site to build up enough search engine ranking to show up higher in searches, so just keep blogging and you will get there. I checked your Google page rank and it is 3/10, which is good for a site that is only going into its 4th month.
Also if you have not done it, verify your site with Google, Bing and Yahoo as explained in this support document.
If you put this into the google search box
site:http://writewriter.wordpress.com
you will see that Google has you, so it is just a matter of you working up in their system. -
