How to switch a domain name

Hello!
I purchased a domain name and mapped it to my wordpress blog a couple of years ago. Now, however, I want to use a new domain name that I more recently purchased. I would like to hold onto my old domain name (since it is my actual name), but I don’t want it to be linked to my wordpress blog. I’ve read the instructions about domain mapping, but haven’t been able to find anything that specifically addresses my situation, that is; switching the domain name linked to my blog altogether. Am I missing something?

Change the mapping to the new name – ask politely the staff for help and you should not need to buy the mapping a second time.

Where is your domain registered now? Many registrars let you send the domain to a “under construction” page or you might be able to just redirect it to a blank blog – or no requirement to actually have the domain name go to a web site as far as I know.

I purchased both of my domain names from godaddy and wordpress is hosting the one I want to remove from my blog. I would like wordpress to host my new one also. I’m just not sure what steps to follow..
