How to switch back to wordpress.com

I started out at wordpress.com and purchased my domain through them. I then wanted to try wordpress.org so I changed the nameserver on my domain…. now that I want to switch back to wordpress.com I don’t know how? I’m not worried about keeping any data… I just need to know how to get the wordpress.com software when I log into my domain so I can change the namersevers back.
    Blog url: http://dirtywormy.wordpress.com/

  • The blog you have linked is actually running WordPres.com. Any blog with a “.wordpress.com” extension is running WordPress.com.

Are you sure you moved to a WordPress.org instance?

Originally I set up a blog at dirtywormy.wordpress.com

Purchased a domain from wp.com – so my domain is actually http://www.dirtywormy.com

Recently I did a free trial of hosting with dreamhost & they autoinstalled wordpress.org

I then changed the nameservers on my dirtywormy domain

Since I closed my dreamhost account I was able to access the original dirtywormy.wordpress.com account and have changed the nameservers back to wordpress

But when I look up my site by domain dirtywormy.com there is a problem and it’s unavailable

Did I miss a step or does it just take a while for the change to take effect?

  • dirtywormy.com seems to be set up properly.

Nameserver changes can take up to 72 hours to complete, but it is usually much less.
