How to take site offline?
-
Hello, I have two sites that I would now like to take offline. I don’t want them to come up in search results on google, I don’t want any way to access them for anyone but me, etc. How do I do that?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Go to Settings->Reading and set them to Private.
Note that when/if you set them back to Public it can take weeks or months to get re-indexed by search engines.

I don’t see “Reading”. At the top of the Settings page I have General, Writing and Discussions. There is a section for Site Visibility under General, where I’ve selected “I would like my site to be private, visible only to users I choose”; however, that has had no fixed it. Does this take time to take effect?

YOU can of course still see the blog. I can’t.
I guess they moved the button to General. https://jfedjko.wordpress.com/ is indeed private now.

You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard, navigate to the Reading page, and scroll down to “Site Visibility”.
To change blog visibility to private go to > Settings > Reading scroll to Blog Visibility and choose option 3 . See the guide here http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
Dashboard > Settings > Reading
