how to track who’s been reading my blog?

I searched and understood it’s called “trackback” (am not sure maybe wrong) but how do I do that?
And how do I make them stay and comment, or check out their blog too?
    Thank you.

Trackback’s are notification links between related posts; that is, if you wrote something that was related to another post and linked to it, then a trackback would appear as a comment. It also works if you link to something someone else has written.

Sounds like what you really want is to get a better idea of who’s reading your blog; what articles they’re reading, searches that brought them to your blog, etc. You can do that in the stats of your blog. Dashboard > Blog Stats. It’ll break down your readership in a way you can understand. If you want more detail, you can install something like Statcounter or Sitemeter which will give you added features, but it needs to be the HTML code, not the javascript.

As for getting more people to read and comment, the best way is to write about interesting things, topics people might like to give feedback on, and build your readership. If you comment on other blogs as well, people might come and read yours. There are some tips in the FAQs which might help as well.

How do I get more views and traffic?

Thank you very much for the fast reply. I understand how to get to the Blog Stats, but let’s say it has 1 entrance – how do I know WHO that was? And go read theirs?
Do I have to have that Statcounter for that?

    Thanks again!

Knowing exactly who your reader is is a bit trickier. WordPress will show you basic stats, and Statcounter will show you more detailed ones… but because it’s HTML, it wouldn’t be the full stats package. What happens is you find that they tend to complement each other – you look at how many readers you’ve had in WP, and try and match that with what Statcounter shows you; the countries your readers come from, browsers they are using, sometimes their IP addresses…

If you want more functionality, you’d need to self-host with http://wordpress.org so you can use the javascript counter. I like Statcounter a lot, though; I use it, it’s invisible on my blog, and combining that with the WordPress stats gives me most of what I want. And in the end, it’s the content that’s the most important thing. :)
