How to transfer a domain name (Not a site) atDirectNIC to host on WordPress

  I have a client that would like to take an existing domain name he owns at DirectNIC and use it to host on WordPress.

  Can I transfer this domain name to WordPress, and if so, how?

  WordPress.com does not accept domain transfers. That said, one can purchase domain mapping to an existing domain is possible. Follow these instructions if you already have a domain that you registered elsewhere, and you want to map that domain to your blog. http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/
