I own an existing domain (www.massimocontiphotography.com)
the web site is currently active and I would like to transfer it under WP.
How can I do it?Can I transfer my domain by clicking on MAP YOUR EXISTING web site ?

In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from and the domain name you desire must be available for purchase, or you must already own the domain URL.
You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard at > Store > My Upgrades to purchase a domain name by purchasing an annually renewable domain mapping upgrade for the blog. Transfer the domain? All you need to do is buy the domain mapping upgrade and get it going. Transferring the content is a different story.

I do not need to buy a new one. I have already a web domain which is currently active and online.
The point is…. if I do the domain mapping upgrade of this active web site (massimocontiphotography.com) what we will see online ? what happens to the originary web site (the one online right now)are we going to see the new massimocontiphotography.com built with WP platform under the name massimoconti.wordpress.com ?

Visitors will see massimocontiphotography.com for the address in their browser address but visitors will see the content from massimoconti.wordpress.com displayed
the current content at massimocontiphotography.com will go away and visitors will not be able to see it –
