How to transfer blog posts ONLY to existing website and move subscribers
-
I would like to transfer/move only my wordpress.com blog posts and comments and subscribers to my current already existing new selg hosted website http://www.beyogabelove.com The entire site is already built and I have been pointing the BLOG Page to my old wordpress.com blog but would like to transfer all my posts to my BLOG Page and redirect my subscribers to my new site.
I want to make sure that ONLY BLOG POSTS transfer to existing BLOG PAGE and that the transfer does not affect my new site in any way.I will also need to transfer my subscribers and followers to my new site.
The blog I need help with is beyogabelove.wordpress.com.
@jackiedana
In June, you responded that you would be able to take care of moving my stats over to my new website at http://www.beyogabelove.comI am finally ready to do that, so can you still help me with that?
Thanks!

You can create an XML export file for Posts only and it will contain the comments on the posts as well. Go to Dashboard > Tolls > Export
http://beyogabelove.wordpress.com/wp-admin/export.php?type=export -
oops! Go to Dashboard > Tools > Export
You can now move your subscribers yourself. To move your subscribers install the JetPack plugin and activate it. Then follow the instructions here please http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/moving-your-subscribers/#wordpress-com-to-self-hosted-site

thanks so much! I will follow the link to export, my only question is how do the stats trensfer affect my current website stats? will they be added in?

I have exported my Blog Post files and am ready to make the blog transfer (import the POSTS Only) on Wednesday October 15th, so if you could wait until then to transfer my STATS to my current website, it will give my subscribers time to add their emails if they so choose.
Also, can you address my question about distinguishing between my website stats and my blog stats? will they get combined? I want to be sure it is all captured correctly. Will the old wordpress site still be up and running?
I also am confused by the subscriber transfer process. Can you please send me the link to the Subscriber Migration tool?
Thanks so much for all your help.

Hi Betty,

I can transfer your stats when you’re ready. However, I visited your site at http://www.beyogabelove.com/ and it isn’t loading. I’d recommend checking with your website host about that, so you can get it sorted out before I transfer your subscribers and stats there.
Also, can you address my question about distinguishing between my website stats and my blog stats? will they get combined? I want to be sure it is all captured correctly.
Because you have Jetpack set up on your site at http://www.beyogabelove.com/ all of the visits there will be counted in your Jetpack stats. (That will include visits to your blog and visits to other parts of the site.)
Will the old wordpress site still be up and running?
Yes, moving your stats and subscribers won’t change any of the content on the old WordPress.com site. If you don’t want that site up and running, you can change the privacy settings to make that site private, or you can permanently delete it (although I’d recommend not doing that right away unless you’re completely sure you don’t need it anymore).
I also am confused by the subscriber transfer process. Can you please send me the link to the Subscriber Migration tool?
I can transfer your subscribers for you when I transfer your stats over, so you don’t need to worry about it. Can you please confirm when you’re ready for the transfer to happen?

Hi Rachel,
I just checked on my site and it is working fine, can you please try again? I am going to import the blog to my current site now and will let you know how it goes so that you can transfer the STATS and SUBSCRIBERS too, I have been afraid of losing information or in some way messing up my website. Right now I have the blog on my website redirected to my wordpress.com blog. Can you ensure me that when I move the POSTS only that they will go to the BLOG Page on my blog, I do not want to lose any info on my website.

The import of my posts did not work, I am not sure what to do to move forward. Please let me know what my options are.

The import did work, but I want to redirect it to my BLOG Page? Can you please let me know how to do this?
For example, one of my latest blog posts goes to the following url
http://www.beyogabelove.com/reading-takes-children-on-magical-adventures/I would like to redirect ALL my BLOG Posts to my BLOG Page on the same site, do I simply change all the link names to http://www.beyogabelove.com/blog/nameofpost?
or is there an easier way to do this, please help!

Ok, I moved your subscribers and stats to your new self-hosted site. You’re all set! :) If you have any questions about that, please let me know.
If you run into other issues or questions, you can get further help for your self-hosted site in the WordPress.org forums.
