How to transfer content from an "old" blog to a "new" blog?
-
I am writing to ask if someone in Support can tell me if the following process is correct.
I have a blog (http://eteamjournal.wordpress.com). I want to create another blog (on WP.com) with another name that mimics my web site (www.teampowerredsuccess.com).So here are the steps.
1. Create a new blog.
2. Copy the content from the existing blog and paste it into the new blog.
3. Make the existing blog a static page with a link to the new blog.
4. Transfer followers of the existing blog to the new blog. But my understanding is that only WordPress Support can perform this step. Are these steps correct. I took them from various WP sites but want to confirm them before I start the process.
Thank you. WordPress.com is great!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

2) is incorrect. You can simply create an Export file on the dashboard of the blog you want to copy, on the Tools page. Then you Import that via the Tools page of the new blog. It is much easier.
It’s also easier simply to change the URL of your existing blog. Since you own teampowerredsuccess.com why not simply buy a custom subdomain for your existing blog, blog.teampowerredsuccess.com for example? Then you don’t need to move anything at all.
